A long-running standard maintenance process was consuming more resources than normal. The process was suspended and resource availability recovered.
There was no effect on data integrity. Some real-time emails may have been delayed for a few minutes while engineers worked to resolve the issue.
Although most automated maintenance tasks run overnight (UK time), some are required to run more often. This does not normally cause any issues as the data sets are relatively small, but it seems this time one particular clean-up process bit off more than it could chew!
We'll continue to closely monitor the system resources for these maintenance processes.
